We are confident that the grounds and buildings are being kept updated to the safest standard and can see clear reviews of all maintenance.

There are positive results of our routine building maintenance reports, our attendance records and staff stress audit. Exciting new projects ahead for our environments to improve children’s and staffs work experiences.

A positive and constructive first Curriculum meeting of 2026. The Board are excited to see new initiatives being used to create a successful “Little Oaks” area and look forward to hearing it’s positive impact on the children and staff. We hope to see as many families as possible access the schools Facebook page.

Governors met and set the Spring 2026 budget and discussed the impact of government spending on it. Governors are excited to see new projects in the pipeline for the nursery. We welcome the new member of staff in the resource base and look forward to seeing the impact of the growing pastoral team.

The governors have set the Autumn budget, with aims to improve grounds and building work, providing training to all staff and providing resources and experiences for all children. Windsor looks forward to attending the future School meetings.

Governors reviewed the Carry Forward Report for 24/25 and are happy to see the school in a healthy financial position. This included reviewing other local schools. The intake of children and funding is positive therefore continuing good sustainability.

We would like to inform all families accessing Acorn and Oak provision of some upcoming closure days. Acorn and Oak closure days for all children will be: Friday 13th February Friday 27th February Friday 13th March Friday 24th April Should you require any further clarity please speak to our Head Teacher David.

The Nursery is closed to all children on Friday 13th February for Inset Day.

We are closed for Autumn Half Term Monday 27th October to Friday 31st October. We are closed on Monday 3rd November for inset day. Sessions return as normal Tuesday 4th November.

The Governors are keen to attend additional meetings to develop further understanding of our curriculum, so it flows through all our playrooms. We are excited to see what training will become available through the Council, and optimistic to encourage staff development through whole team meetings empowering everyone to be confident to support the children in all areas of nursery life.

News for Acorn & Oak: Nursery re-opens Thursday 4th September 2025 at 8:30am.

We are delighted to welcome Bal for his first meeting. Governors find the comparison/analysing graphs very useful for determining the impact of the curriculum.

Governors are aware that the school has met all the requirements of their 24/25 Health and safety audit. We will be working as a team to support the Forest school to be running swiftly, safely and effectively.

The whole nursery team pulled together for an Ofsted visit in May, and they are already working on recommendations to make us even greater. The observations shared by Early Years make us proud of the wonderful play and learning all the children experience here. We are looking forward to completing our community with the hope of a new suitable Parent Governor and co-opt governor soon.

The reports for governors have clear understanding that the school is budgeting appropriately for all cost centres, prioritising the mandatory needs of the children, staff and grounds.

The board is delighted to welcome our new Parent Governor and look forward growing our skill set together. We continue to share with parents the importance of good attendance at nursery leading their children to the best start at school and improved opportunities further in life. We also look forward to hearing more about the PLACES speech and language training.

Health and Safety of the new year, news of our new parent Governor joining us next term is exciting. All aspects of safety are continuing to be reviewed and acted upon accordingly. The nursery is welcoming an external Health and Safety Audit with W.C.C, upon completion will evidence further dedication to the well-being of everyone at the School.
